Thoughtful journeys leave lasting impressions, not heavy footprints.

What You Do Matters to Keep Bali Sustainable
At Mulia Bali, luxury and sustainability go hand in hand. Our commitment to eco-friendly practices—from reducing plastic waste to conserving water—ensures that every guest experience contributes to preserving the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Join us on this journey of mindful travel and discover how your small actions can make a big impact in keeping Bali sustainable for generations to come.
Bali’s beauty is more than what you see. It is spiritual, cultural, and deeply connected to its natural surroundings. However, like many cherished destinations, the island is facing increasing pressure from tourism. At Mulia Bali, we believe that preserving this paradise starts with mindful actions from both us and our guests.
Luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand. When approached with care, each complements the other.
Our Sustainability Milestones
Sustainability at Mulia Bali is not a new idea. It is an ongoing commitment focused on achieving real progress and making a meaningful impact. Here are some of our key milestones so far:
• Architectural Efficiency
Our resort’s design maximises the use of natural sunlight in public areas. This reduces the need for artificial lighting during the day, creating a calm, open-air environment.
• Energy Reduction
Over 80% of the resort's lighting has been converted to energy-efficient LED, resulting in a significant reduction in electricity consumption.
• Water Conservation
Greywater recycling systems are in place to irrigate our gardens, reducing the use of fresh water while supporting lush, sustainable landscaping.
• Plastic Reduction
In 2023, we eliminated over 1 million pieces of single-use plastic, replacing them with biodegradable or refillable alternatives throughout our guest experience.
• Waste Diversion Success
Through recycling, composting, and sorting waste, we diverted over 24 tonnes of waste from landfills last year. This is a real step toward a cleaner Bali.
• Local Sourcing
From farm-fresh ingredients in our kitchens to spa and bath amenities, we prioritise local producers, reducing transport emissions and supporting community livelihoods.
How Guests Can Support
You don’t need to overhaul your holiday to travel more sustainably. Here are a few small yet impactful ways you can support during your stay:
• Reuse Thoughtfully
Reusing towels or waiting a bit longer between linen changes helps us save water and energy, without sacrificing your comfort.
• Reduce Single-Use Waste
Bring your own reusable items, such as tote bags or travel containers. Our team is happy to assist with packaging-free options wherever possible.
• Mindful Cooling
Keep doors closed when using air conditioning and set the temperature to a moderate level to prevent condensation and conserve energy.
• Respect the Local Culture
Bali’s spiritual life is sacred. Please be mindful when visiting temples, avoid disturbing the offerings, and support local artisans.
• Dine Locally
Choosing Indonesian dishes and seasonal specials supports local agriculture and offers a deeper, more authentic culinary experience.
A Shared Journey
At Mulia Bali, sustainability is not just one project. It is a series of thoughtful choices we make every day. From the way we design our spaces to the partners we work with, every effort demonstrates respect for the island, its people, and future generations.
Your presence here can be part of something meaningful.
Thank you for travelling with intention.
