Celebration of Culture

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, guests can enjoy the lion dance performance that will take place at the main lobby and the restaurants. Known locally as Barongsai, the traditional Chinese lion dance is performed to bring good luck and fortune for the coming year.

During the performance, red envelopes are usually 'fed' to the lion as a prayer for luck. This tradition dates back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) and still performed today during special occasions including weddings and corporate events to honour special guests. The lion dance has also influenced some of the local Balinese dances, especially the renowned Barong dance.
