Sweet Dreams Are Made of These.... Decadent Desserts You Definitely Must Try at Mulia Bali

Published on 14 March 2019 in Dining

"Dessert is like a feel-good song and the best ones make you dance" - and we've seen quite a bit of dancing around here - especially following a visit to the famous dessert room at The Cafe. Well, if you have been to Mulia Bali before and dined in our signature restaurants then you may be familiar with these sweet temptations, but if you can't remember (or have never tried them), please allow us to refresh your memory and take you back to the moment you took a bite and danced!

The Proof Is in the Pudding

Sometimes the best things in life are the simplest thing. Take The Cafe's warm bread pudding, for instance, the golden brown caramelized crust, the silky texture of the custard around buttery pieces of bread, sprinkled with sweet raisins, and the creamy sweet vanilla sauce...heavenly! This is the kind of dessert that takes you back to fond memories of your childhood.

Bonjour, Mademoiselle M

If we can say something about Mademoiselle M, it would be that she is sophisticated but simple at the same time, and there is more to her than meets the eye. This elegant dessert is Mulia Deli's precious jewel, our take on the classic layered dessert, Mille Feuille. Layers of crepes with chocolate, caramel or vanilla pastry cream in between, each bite, smooth and creamy with a delicate lingering taste of rum - like the French say - C’est un délice.

Traditional and Beneficial

Our next pick may not be a common choice for some but it is believed to promote good health, especially for the skin. The double-boiled imperial bird's nest with ginseng may be the last thing you'd consider a dessert but this unique dish is a definite must-try the next time you dine at Table8. To some this is more than just a delicacy, it is believed to be very beneficial for you!

The Best of the Rising Sun

Inspired by the land of the rising sun, our pick comes from Edogin, Mulia Bali's signature Japanese restaurant. Showcasing the unique elements to Japanese cuisine, this dessert has it all. Green tea sponge, strawberry agar, strawberry chantilly, yuzu gel, green tea shortbread, and a unique shiso sorbet - everything in one bite!

It's Sunday - Have Two Desserts!

We keep the best for last as it features TWO amazing sinful treats! Available at our award-winning beachfront restaurant, Soleil, these final two picks are completely different to from other. One is the frozen sensation that is a show on a plate - instantly frozen using liquid nitrogen, Soleil's sabayon is a cold, crunchy, sweet and sour treat - with different toppings you can choose from - berries, chocolate, and other assortments. From the menu, you can also opt for our take on the classic Italian treat, Bomboloni - deep-fried dough ball covered in sugar with a dark chocolate dip - perfect to end your meal over a hot cup of coffee!
